So what does a single-varietal, matured Vintage Port taste like although is not allowed according to the official statutes? The more than 50 participants in the masterclass with Ramos Pinto's head oenologist Ana Rosas were able to taste a few of those to understand what contribution the individual grape variety contributes to the final product.
An unforgettable masterclass, during which the single-varietal vintage ports were served alongside the final blends from 1982. At my special request, my favourite single Ramos Pinto Quinta Vintage Port from 1994 was also included and in the end the participants could taste the oldest Port in a Portweinmesse Masterclass so far:
- Ramos Pinto Vintage Port 2000
- Ramos Pinto Vintage Port Ervamoira 1994
- Ramos Pinto Vintage Port 1994
- Ramos Pinto “Vintage Port” Touriga Franca 1982 Magnum
- Ramos Pinto “Vintage Port” Tinta Barroca 1982 Magnum
- Ramos Pinto “Vintage Port” Touriga Nacional 1982 Magnum
- Ramos Pinto Vintage Port 1982 Magnum
- Ramos Pinto White Colheita 1884
